With so many social media management tools out there, how do you know which one is the best to use? How do you know which one will fit your needs in the best way? It’s easy to get lost in the whole variety of those tools! That’s why I want to share what we tried so far and which tool became our favorite.
Why Use Social Media Management Tools?
First of all, why do you even should consider using a social media management tool? Structure, consistency, and organization are the keys to success in marketing. Therefore, if you’re not managing your social platforms with a social media management tool, you’re making your life harder and that needs to change today.
Not only will using a social media management tool make your life substantially easier and free up some time. Some of the tools are free which means you will accomplish your social marketing goals without paying something additionally.
Those tools will help you manage multiple social profiles in one place, schedule posts in advance, track analytics across platforms and much more. They are real game changers for your social strategy!
That said, let’s go through the tools we used and through their advantages and disadvantages. I should say that all the tools have almost the same set of features but offer different pricing and yet a killer feature that made a difference for our choice.
Buffer has a special place in my heart, likely because it’s the first social media management tool that I used.
It offers you a basic set of necessary features like managing your Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts, scheduling posts, tracking analytics and shorting links. What makes it stand out among other platforms is the free plan. Yes, it goes with limited features and only gives you the ability to manage three social profiles and schedule up to ten posts.
Another great feature that Buffer offers is direct posting to Instagram. Almost all other tools let you schedule the post beforehand and send a notification to your mobile app when it’s the time to post it. So, you should manually post the content you have prepared. It’s not comfortable at all because you may be busy and miss the best time for posting. Buffer solves this problem for you and posts automatically the content you scheduled. That’s why we keep the free plan from Buffer for our Instagram profile only using other tools for the rest of social media platforms.
The minimum plan with 8 accounts and 100 scheduled posts will cost you $15 per month.
2. Social Pilot
Social Pilot is a great platform because it offers many features in one dashboard. We used it for all our social media profiles besides Instagram for quite long before we didn’t find something better.
Social Pilot has the basic scheduling features but doesn’t have Smart queues and auto-publishing to Instagram. It offers quite powerful analytics which you can transform into a report with only one click. You can reply to all the comments, messages and posts on multiple Facebook Pages with the help on Inbox.
Although Social Pilot offers a 14-day free trial, you’ll need to pay $25 monthly if you decide to continue with a minimum plan.
Tailwind focuses solely on Pinterest and Instagram. Like other social media management tools, it lets you schedule posts, discover content, monitor conversations, amplify your reach, and measure results. Tailwind’s browser extension enables you to easily create multiple posts from any website with a single click. It recommends you the best time for your postings based on when your audience is active the most.
We’re using Tailwind only for Pinterest and another feature I like there is Tailwind Tribes. Tailwind Tribes are similar to Pinterest Group Boards. The Tribe is a group of people in the same niche or with similar interests. When you join, you’re able to submit your pins to a tribe. All other tribe members can see each other’s submitted pins. You’ll get access to the pool of pins added by the tribe members. The overall idea is that you have a network of people with similar interests in the tribe, all exposed to the topic related content. All you have to do is to pick interesting pins and pin them to your boards. And vice versa — add your pins to the tribe to be shared by tribe members to their audiences. This is an excellent way to increase your exposure geometrically!
Moreover, Tailwind is very budget-friendly. The minimum plan for small businesses is only $9.99 per month.
4. Meet Edgar Is The Best Social Media Management Tool For Us
Last but not least, and actually our favorite social media management tool is Meet Edgar. It has the same set of features (plus some extras) like the above-mentioned tools but schedules content in a unique way.
Meet Edgar groups all of your content into categories and then adds time slots to each category. It fills up those slots with your content and publishes them for you.
Moreover, Meet Edgar automatically finds the quote-worthy text from articles or blogs and automatically creates variations for your post. all you have to do is click a button and share. Also, it continues to publish and reshare content, even once you reach the end of your queue making sure that your posting is continuous. Meet Edgar browser extension lets you automatically generate up to 5 pre-written social media posts directly from the article! This all goes together with the great analytics possibilities and link shortening. Thus, Meet Edgar is our choice for all our social profiles besides Instagram and Pinterest.
Well, there are a lot of options here! Luckily, they all have free trials so you can experiment and find a social media tool that works best for you. At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong moving onto a social media management tool – it will likely save you time, grow your social presence and following!
