Wouldn’t it be great consistently and predictably generate leads for your business? To have a stream of new leads on autopilot. Sounds pretty cool, doesn’t it?
As a local business, you have a unique advantage to make this happen because you’re only competing against other local businesses in your area. And they most likely won’t have such an idea.
The General Idea Of Lead Generation Funnel
Honestly, it doesn’t take a lot of effort. What you’re going to do is to send traffic from Facebook ads to a simple 2-step funnel. On the first page of this funnel, you’ll offer an incentive for your potential customers in exchange for their contact information (name, email, phone number).
Moreover, you may try to get the new leads to follow up with you by offering a bonus if they call you right away. However, if they don’t call you you’ll follow up with them via phone, email, or retargeting ads.
The main goal of this funnel is to get a lead into your business, provide them with a great experience and up-sell other offers.
This funnel works great for small local businesses where you actually get to meet your customers in person. Here is just a short list of the businesses which can benefit from it.
- Gyms / Health Centers
- Barbers / Hair Stylists
- Real Estate Agents
- And beyond!
Steps Of A Lead Generation Funnel
The funnel I’ll use as an example was built for real estate agents with the help of Clickfunnels. And we’re giving this funnel away for FREE! All you need is a Clickfunnels account to customize and use it. They offer a 14-day free trial, so with no investment, you can try it out and create a new stream of leads for your business.
This particular funnel starts with a home page because it has two flows – for home buyers and sellers with different freebies. But if you only have one type of audience you can omit this step.
On a squeeze page, you offer an incentive in exchange to contact information of your potential customers. In our example, the incentive is a free Home buyers’ guide.
Your incentive is very important! If your freebie sucks nobody will want to get it. Your free offer should be valuable for your leads that’s why put some thought into it, do some research on what your competitors may offer. And make it better.
Keep the end goal of this lead generation funnel in mind! It should get a person into your business and you only can do this if your free offer is appealing.
“Thank You” Page
The next page of the funnel is a “Thank You” page which your leads will see after they give you their contact information. Don’t forget to confirm that you’re sending your leads a freebie they claimed on the previous page to not cause confusion.
The other thing you may do on this page (although it’s not in the example) is to motivate people to call you. Do you agree that it’s nicer to have inbound leads than have to call them or follow up with emails?
You can offer another incentive or bonus if people call you like personal training for gyms, 15 extra minutes of massage, 10% off for restaurants.

Don’t Underestimate Follow-Ups
The money is made by following up! You have to follow up with those people who visited your funnel and gave you their contact information. You can do this in a few ways:
- Call them
If you’re requesting the phone number on the squeeze page use the possibility to reach out to your leads by calling them. For example, you can reach out to them to offer claim the additional bonus (if you offer it) which they probably didn’t notice after they got their freebie. The bonus is so great that they can’t just miss it out.
- Email follow up
It’s one of the easiest ways to follow up on your leads because it can be automated. Think about an email sequence for the leads you got from the funnel and put it on autopilot.
- Retargeting ads
Retargeting is a type of paid advertising where you can present specific ads to a specific group of people. For example, if someone opts-in for your freebie, you can retarget them with ads that remind them to claim another bonus or visit your business in the next few days.
Running Facebook Ads To Your Funnel
What’s left to do now is to run Facebook ads to your lead generation funnel. Call out your audience, tell them what you’re giving them for free and add a call to action. Make sure you target your ideal customers in the right location.
You can hire a freelancer to create graphics for your ad or do it quickly on your own using Canva.
